Delete your Liv+ account
Last updated: 2026-09-04 IST
Liv+ is published by Achyuta Software Solutions, a sole proprietorship of Lavanya Bodapatla. This page explains how to delete your Liv+ account and exactly what happens to your data afterwards.
Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest way, and it works for owners, staff and tenants.
- Open the Liv+ app and sign in.
- Open the More tab.
- Tap Delete account, near the bottom of the list.
- Read the summary of what will be deleted, then confirm.
You will be signed out immediately. If your account has no hostel, no tenancy and no staff role attached to it, it is deleted straight away and you can sign up again with the same number. Otherwise deletion is scheduled and completes as described below.
If you have already uninstalled the app
You do not need to reinstall it. Email support@livplus.app from the address on your account, or from any address if you signed up with a phone number only, and include:
- the subject line Delete my Liv+ account
- the mobile number you use to sign in to Liv+
We verify that the request really comes from the account holder before deleting anything, which may mean sending a one-time code to that number. We respond within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
What is deleted
When your account deletion completes, we delete:
- your name, mobile number and email address;
- your profile photo and any identity document uploaded for you;
- your device push-notification tokens and sign-in sessions;
- for owners: your hostels, and the rooms, beds, tenancies, staff roles, meal timetables, notices and feed posts belonging to them;
- files you uploaded to Liv+ storage, including photos and payment-proof images.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment and financial records: up to 7 years. Indian tax and accounting law requires us to retain records of transactions, including invoices and rent payment records. These are kept even after your account is deleted, and are not used for any other purpose.
- Everything else: deleted within 30 days. Personal data that we are not legally required to keep is removed within 30 days of your request completing.
- If you were a tenant, your owner keeps their own record of your tenancy. Your Liv+ account is deleted, but the hostel owner remains the data fiduciary for the rental record they created about you: the bed you occupied, the dates, and the rent charged and paid. This is their business record, and they need it for their own accounts and tax obligations. To ask an owner to erase that record, contact the owner directly.
- Backups. Data already written to encrypted backups is removed as those backups age out on their normal rotation.
Grace period and cancelling a deletion
Accounts holding real data are deleted after a 30-day grace period rather than instantly. This protects you against an accidental or malicious deletion. During that window you can cancel by signing in again and choosing to keep your account. Once the window passes, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Subscriptions
Deleting your Liv+ account does not automatically cancel a subscription bought through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Cancel it in that store's subscription settings, otherwise billing continues.
