Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-03 IST

This Privacy Policy explains how Achyuta Software Solutions, a sole proprietorship of Lavanya Bodapatla ("Liv+", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the Liv+ mobile apps (owner, staff and tenant) and the Liv+ website. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

1. Our two roles

Liv+ has different responsibilities for different data. For a hostel owner's and staff's own account information, Liv+ is the data fiduciary. For information about tenants that an owner enters or uploads to run their hostel, the owner is the data fiduciary and Liv+ acts as a data processor on the owner's behalf. Owners are responsible for collecting their tenants' consent before adding them.

2. Information we collect

Account data (owners and staff)

Mobile number (used for one-time-password sign in), email address (used to verify your account and to send billing and account notices), name, hostel name and address, room and bed details, staff roles and permissions, and the owner's own UPI ID(s) used to receive rent.

Tenant data (entered by owners/staff)

Tenant name, mobile number, photo, joining and vacating dates, room and bed assignment, rent amount, payment records, and, where the owner chooses to use identity verification, a government ID document image. Tenants using the tenant app also have a mobile number and name.

Payment data

Subscription payments (owner to Liv+) are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not store your card, bank or UPI credentials for these — the store does. We receive only the fact that a subscription is active, which plan it is, and when it renews. Rent payments (tenant to owner) are made directly through the tenant's own UPI app to the owner's UPI ID; Liv+ never receives or holds this money. We store the resulting payment records (amount, date, status) and any payment-proof image an owner or tenant uploads.

Technical data

Device push-notification token, app version, device type, IP address, and crash and error diagnostics.

3. How we use your data

To run the Service — sign you in, register tenants, generate rent bills on each tenant's rent date, send payment reminders and other notifications, track payments and expenses, produce reports, and provide support. We use aggregate analytics to improve the apps. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process account data to provide the Service you signed up for and with your consent. Owners must obtain their tenants' consent before entering tenant data. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account (see Your Rights).

5. Who we share data with

We use trusted service providers who process data only to run the Service on our behalf:

  • Supabase — secure database, file storage and authentication.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (via RevenueCat) — subscription billing and its status (owner to Liv+).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications.
  • Our SMS provider — delivering one-time sign-in codes.
  • PostHog — aggregate product analytics (no phone numbers, names or tenant data in analytics events).
  • Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
  • HyperVerge — only if an owner uses the optional, paid ID-authenticity check, and only for that check.

We may also share data where required by law or a valid legal request.

6. Rent payments

Liv+ is not a payment intermediary for rent. When a tenant pays rent, the money moves directly from the tenant's UPI app to the owner's bank account. Liv+ does not collect, hold, route or take a commission on rent. We only record that a payment was made.

7. Data retention

Payment and financial records are retained for up to 7 years to meet Indian tax and accounting law. Deleted tenants are held in a recoverable vault for a short period and then purged. Other personal data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except where the law requires us to keep it.

8. Your rights (DPDP Act)

You can access and correct your personal data in the app, export your data, and delete your account and its data (Settings → Account). You may also nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer. We aim to respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Liv+ is for adults (18+) operating or living in hostels/PGs. It is not directed at children.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security and role-based permissions, and each account holds a single active session. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will change the "last updated" date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
